Has Valentine’s Day lost its relevance today?
Valentine's Day, celebrated on February 14 every year, was perceived as a western concept sometime back. But over the years, the occasion has caught the fantasy of east as well. Particularly in India, the popularity of V-Day is well on its way to surpass that of traditional Indian festivals like Diwali, Holi. Who cares if expression of love today is reduced to the exchange of flowers, expensive gifts or chocolates, which the shopping malls are dying to sell? The big question is - Do we really need to wait for a particular day to express love? Is V-Day all about marketing gimmicks?
